Position : Sr. Systems Administrator

Duration : 3+ Months Contract To Hire

Location : New York

Job Description :

• Job Title:Sr System Admin
• Location:Long Island,NY 
• Duration:3months contract to hire
• Candidate must be GC or Citizen 

BASIC FUNCTION

• Under general direction of manager and technical leadership of other experienced team members, perform and provide Weblogic, JBOSS, Tomcat, iPlanet, EWS, SSO and OBIEE administration support which include installations, configuration, logical and physical design.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, configure, maintain, administer and troubleshoot applications. 
• Implement and configure security requirements adhering to IT control policies and guidelines.
• Perform general administration tasks including application code deployments and configurations approved by change control and disk management in the environments.
• Schedule and perform application upgrades and support code deployments.
• Establish and maintain appropriate access permissions for all supported application environments.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory/library of support documentation and procedures.
• Conduct software audits of the software products for compliance with established standards, policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Escalate problems to management and/or vendors in a timely fashion.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in Research & Development activities and implementation strategies for enterprise initiatives.
• The individual will need to be very flexible with ability to adjust to changing business needs. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 6-8 years experience on multiple hardware platforms and operating systems (UNIX, Linux, Windows)— Minimum 5 years as a Weblogic administrator. Previous experience in Open Systems environment is essential.
• Knowledge of client server technology) and networking concepts; able to provide technical assistance, design and implement improved methods and procedures for troubleshooting and researching problem. Advanced skill level required. Experience with scripting languages (korn, Perl, Python). Knowledge of file transfer protocols: FTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SFTP, FTPS, Working knowledge of networking and infrastructure.
• Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
• Possess excellent analytical and decision making skills.
• Possess leadership skills and competency to lead a technical workgroup by delegating responsibilities appropriately.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
